According to conflict theory, groups emerge as a way of establishing dominance. Every group is naturally in a state of war with every other group, and as such the actions of any group at any time can be understood as an attempt to win.
Conflict theory explains why groups that appear to be established “for the benefit of victim groups” perpetuate victim narratives. The presence of “designated victim groups” directly enables these “helper groups” to exist and occupy a controlling position with respect to them.
Any time there are improper hidden relationships, the fundamental dynamics of society alter. When the situation is not directly questioned by the media, a dysfunctional story about reality develops and is perpetuated until there develops a total break between the portrayal and the reality. Consumerism is largely the attempt to sell the portrayal, and sometimes consumers want the portrayal, but often they want the reality that no one will sell them. Unfortunately that need for truth is often weaponized into controlled opposition.
