Va'era: Don't Put Limits On Yourself (January 6, 2019)
Don’t put limits on yourself!
January 6, 2019.
God: “Moses—go tell Pharoah to let the Jews out of Egypt.”
Moses: “I can’t. I have a disability.”
God: “??????? I’M GOD!!!!”
Why didn’t God go to Pharoah Himself? What did He need Moses for?
The purpose of sending Moses, was to help Moses grow.
Moses, the humblest man on Earth, had to confront the mighty Pharoah—the most arrogant.
Pharoah used to pretend he was a god.
Gods don’t need the bathroom.
So Pharoah went to the bathroom in the Nile where nobody could see.
Moses went there deliberately to confront him—acknowledging tacitly that Pharoah was a fake.
Moses had physical courage. He previously killed the Egyptian who attacked a fellow Jew.
But he lacked the speech capacity he needed against the gaslighting Egyptian leadership.
Was it a physical disability, or an emotional one?
Moses said to God: “My lips are sealed”—I can’t do it.
Maybe because the Egyptians had raised him—Pharoah was like his grandfather.
To be free, you must do the thing you think you cannot do.
Before he could free the Jewish people, Moses had to free himself from the mental chains that left him mute to speak up.
